TSP congratulates past president Bekra Yorke, MD, FCAP, who received the 2026 CAP Advocacy Award, established in honor of George F. Kwass, MD, FCAP, at the Honors in Pathology Awards Ceremony during CAP’26 in October.
The award recognizes outstanding accomplishments in advocacy on behalf of the CAP in the legislative, regulatory and political arenas. As vice chair of the CAP Federal and State Affairs Committee, Dr. Yorke was cited for aligning federal and state advocacy work and for her role in securing Texas legislation to improve insurance network adequacy and strengthen patient access to pathologists and other specialists.
