Summer Conference & YPS Retreat | Mini-Abstract Series

PLEASE READ THE BELOW GUIDELINES CAREFULLY!

Five (5) abstracts will be selected for Platform Presentation, with 7 minutes to present and 2 minutes for Q&A. Those not selected for Platform will be notified with the option to present a poster. 

*Any trainee or prospective trainee in pathology, located in Texas. 
*You must be an active TSP/YPS Member in order to submit an application.
* You CANNOT submit an abstract for Investigative AND Case Report. You must choose ONE category.
* You CANNOT submit more than one application/abstract as the main author. This does not preclude an individual from being included as co-authors in other abstracts. *Co-authors should not complete an application. Only the main author should submit an application. 
* The abstract must be 350 or less words. This includes background, materials/methods, discussion, & results. You are responsible for word counting your abstract before submitting. 
* Abstracts are submitting with the understanding that they represent work performed primarily by the presenter and were not previously presented in a national meeting. This does not preclude subsequent presentation or publication in a refereed journal. 
* Abstract should NOT contain the names of the author or institution. 
* Though not required, it is strongly recommended that abstracts be broken down into four clearly defined sections: background, materials and methods, results and discussion.
 *Topics may cover anatomic, clinical or experimental pathology. These include but are not limited to: 
  • report of one or more cases of diagnostic or conceptual interest 
  • an in-depth study of a case using a new method or variety of methods 
  • investigative basic research in any branch of pathology 
  • differential diagnostic problems encountered by the practicing pathologist 
  • improvements or evaluation of new stains, methodology or instruments 

 

ADDITIONAL NOTES
* Individuals or institutions are responsible for their individual travel and hotel expenses, as well as retreat registration fees. 
* Abstracts are accepted only be electronic submission. Those received by fax, routine mail, or email will not be considered. 
* Eligible Winner are TSP Members only. Medical students can submit an application/abstract but are not eligible to win certificate. 
* The TSP Office will print all approved posters (as submitted in PDF Format) and will have displayed at the YPS Retreat for you. They will NOT be posted online. 

SUBMISSION AND DEADLINE
All applicants MUST register to attend the Summer Conference & YPS Retreat in order to submit an application. You will be notified if you application has been selected for Platform Presentation no later than July 18th. Those selected for poster presentations will received instructions via email from the TSP Office no later than July 18th.
