Young Pathologists' Section Liaison Program
The YPS Liaison Program consists of active TSP Junior Members that represent 10 different pathology programs from across the state. Each YPS Liaison serves a two-year term, with oversight by the YPS Chairs.
Purpose of the YPS Liaison Program:
- Increase awareness of the Texas Society of Pathologists (TSP) and of the YPS
- Recruit new members
- Serve as ambassadors to residents/fellows at local university
- Strengthen and complement existing outreach activities in TSP
- Increase involvement of young members
- Facilitate two-way communication
YPS Liaison Time Commitment
- YPS Liaison Orientation (held via conference call)
- Participation in at least two TSP board meetings a year (Liaisons do not have voting powers on the TSP board.)
- January – TSP Annual Meeting
- August – held in conjunction with YPS Retreat
- Additional TSP Board meetings may be held throughout the year, as determined by the TSP Board of Directors
- Attend at least one YPS business meeting a year
- Occasional phone calls/emails to individual residents/fellows and TSP members
- Submit a brief survey at the conclusion of term about experience with the program
