  • The deadline to register for the meeting in order to participate in the poster presentation competition is January 26, 2024.
  • The resident, fellow, or medical student is responsible for sending a PDF version of their poster to Aliza.Gersh@texmed.org no later than 5pm on January 19, 2024.
  • You MUST follow the directions below to ensure your poster meets the requirements. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN FORFEITURE TO PARTICIPATE.
  • If you do not follow the requirements there is a possibility that text and/or images will not fit on the poster board (and your graphics, copy and information may look BAD!)
  • You CANNOT print your poster and bring to the meeting as all abstracts will be sized consistently and mounted on boards for placing on easels.

SOME GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS FOR A QUALITY POSTER

Text

Text should be legible from a distance of 2‑3 feet and should be succinct.  It can be organized as per the diagram, with a title, an abstract, material and methods, results and conclusions.  References are not necessary in a poster, but a few may be included if you choose.

Figures & Tables

These are very effective in conveying a message in a poster.  Photographs enlarged to about 4" X 6" or 5"x 7" are ideal, although smaller sizes may be used.  Some information lends itself to presentation in a table format.  Tables should be clear and not cluttered with data.  Two neat tables are better than a single crowded one.
